Professor Istvan TOTH is Chair in Biological Chemistry & Professor of Pharmacy, The University of Queensland (UQ), Brisbane, Australia; Affiliated Professorial Research Fellow and Group Leader, Institute of Molecular Biosciences, UQ. He graduated with a degree in Chemical Engineering from the Technical University, Budapest, Hungary in 1969 and was awarded his PhD in 1972 for research in Alkaloid Chemistry. In 1994 he was awarded a DSc for his work on drug delivery. Prof. Toth moved from the School of Pharmacy at the University of London to the University of Queensland in 1998, and leads a productive medicinal chemistry research group (presently 30 members). He is an elected RACI Fellow, Fellow of the Queensland Academy of Arts and Sciences and Fellow (External) of the Hungarian Academy of Sciences. In 2009 he was awarded the Adrian Albert award for sustained and outstanding research in medicinal biochemistry. He has over 400 peer-reviewed publications (>500 citations/year since 2012), 44 patents, and a strong record in research commercialization.His research has attracted over $84 million in competitive grants, research contracts and investment funds in the past 10 years, including an NHMRC Program grant, which is now in its fourth successive 5-year term and a recent NHMRC Project Grant.

Syed Askari, PhD, is the Founder, President and CEO of Maculus Therapeutix, an ENT medical device/drug delivery company. Previously he founded Medicus Biosciences, and launched two wound healing products, SutureSeal and HyFlex.Syed holds more than 25 patents/patents applications. Syed has a PhD in Organic Chemistry from the University of British Columbia and has completed his post doctoral work at UCLA and UCSB under Prof Wudl and Prof Heeger Nobel Laureate (year 2000) labs.

Syed's technical expertise and area of research include localized drug delivery technology to treat multiple clinical indications using in vivo polymerizable biomaterials.

Dr. Lakshmi Prasanna Kolluru is currently working as Sr. Formulation Scientist at Medefil, Inc, a generic pharmaceutical company in USA. She is responsible for leading product development project teams all the way from kick-off to product approval. Prior to joining Medefil, Dr. Kolluru served in formulation, analytical and clinical development groups across brand pharma, generic pharma and contract research organizations. She graduated with a PhD in Pharmaceutical Sciences from Mercer University, Atlanta, GA. Her thesis research focusing on development of novel targeted drug delivery system for tumor theragnosis has been recognized internationally by American Association of Pharmaceutical Scientists (AAPS) for excellence in graduate research. In addition to her active research, Dr. Kolluru serves as an editorial board member and peer-reviewer for several international journals. She is also routinely invited to serve as a speaker and moderator for international conferences on pharmaceutical nanotechnology, formulation development and drug delivery.

Heather Sheardown is a Professor in the Department of Chemical Engineering with a cross appointment to the Department of Pathology and Molecular Medicine and an adjunct appointment with the School of Optometry at the University of Waterloo. She holds a Tier 1 Canada Research Chair in Ophthalmic Biomaterials and Drug Delivery and has published more than 140 peer reviewed papers on this subject. She is currently the Scientific Director of C20/20, an ORF funded incubator aimed at the commercialization of ophthalmic biotechnologies. Sheardown was previously the Scientific Director of the 20/20 NSERC Ophthalmic Materials Research Network which brought together 12 researchers and more than 10 companies aimed at the early stage development of novel materials based treatments for ophthalmic conditions. Sheardown is the Associate Director of Biomedical Engineering and Advanced Manufacturing (BEAM), a McMaster partnership with the Fraunhofer IZI which partners with companies for incubation and commercialization of cell based therapies, diagnostics and biomaterials. She holds 18 patents or provisional patents and is currently the Chief Scientific Officer of 20/20 Optim Eyes, a McMaster based spin out focused on developing and commercializing a micelle based technology developed in her laboratory. She runs a large and vibrant research group with more than 10 post doctoral fellows, and graduate students

Mohamad Abadelah has completed his degree in Pharmacy before joining the University of Huddersfield in 2011 to study for a Master degree in the pharmaceutics and pharmaceutical analysis. After completing his master degree with distinction and awarded the Queen Elizabeth II diamond Jubilee Prize for his outstanding achievement, he decided to pursue his Ph.D. in the inhalation field under the supervision of both Prof Henry Chrystyn and Dr El Hassane Larhrib. His work focuses on dose emission aerodynamic characteristic from dry powder inhalers (DPIs) and evaluation of the performance of some commercially available DPIs using both In-vitro and ex-vivo methodologies. He has presented his research nationally and internationally at different conferences including UK Pharm.Sci, AAPS, DDL, PDDS and ERS. Mohamad is also involved in teaching and supervision of undergraduate and MSc research projects in the pulmonary drug delivery. In December 2017, He has been awarded his PhD in pharmaceutical science from the University of Huddersfield following his excellent research on the characterization of inhaler devices performance for asthma and COPD patients.

Anthony Pettigrew,serves as Vice President of Pharmaceutical Development at Novaliq GmbH. He is a highly experienced chemist and manager, with over 15 years of pharmaceutical experience. Initially, he joined Novaliq GmbH in 2012 as Chief Protein Chemist; however in 2013, he was promoted to Director of New Products.Prior to joining Novaliq, he had built up a solid background in the biotech field as his previous experience included leadership positions in the Biopharma Application Development group at Novozymes Biopharma A/S DK and within Analytical Development/Quality Control at Veloxis A/S DK. Pettigrew graduated as a chemist at Liverpool John Moores University (1993) and later earned his MSc in Analytical Chemistry (1995) from the University of Huddersfield.

Alexander Seifalian, Professor of Nanotechnology and Regenerative Medicine worked at the Royal Free Hospital and University College London for over 26 years, during this time he spent a period of time at Harvard Medical School looking at caused of cardiovascular diseases and a year at Johns Hopkins Medical School looking at treatment of liver. He published more than 647 peer-reviewed research papers, and registered 14 UK and International patents. He is currently CEO of NanoRegMed Ltd, working on the commercialisation of his research. During his career Prof Seifalian has led and managed many large projects with successful outcomes in terms of commercialisation and translation to patients. In 2007 he was awarded the top prize in the field for the development of nanomaterials and technologies for cardiovascular implants by Medical Future Innovation, and in 2009 he received a Business Innovation Award from UK Trade & Investment (UKTI). He was the European Life Science Awards’ Winner of Most Innovative New Product 2012 for the “synthetic trachea”. Prof Seifalian won the Nanosmat Prize in 2013 and in 2016 he received the Distinguish Research Award in recognition of his outstanding work in regenerative medicine from Heals Healthy Life Extension Society. His achievements include development of the world first synthetic trachea, lacrimal drainage conduit, and vascular bypass graft using nanocomposite materials, bioactive molecules and stem cell technology. He has over 15,000 media report from his achievement, include BBC, ITV, WSJ, CNN, and many more. Currently he is working on development and commercialisation of human organs using graphene based nanocomposite materials and stem cells technology.

Russell Elliott, Ph.D., has served as the Vice President of Drug Development since May 2016. Dr. Elliott has over 25 years of industry experience, previously holding positions as Head of Skincare Technology at Lonza Inc. from 2015 to 2016, Head of Product Development at Stiefel (a GSK Company) from 2011 to 2014, Head of the Center of Excellence for Liquids, Cream and Ointments at GSK (UK) from 2007 to 2011, and Principal Scientist at Procter & Gamble from 1992 to 2007. He has filed more than 60 patent applications in the area of skincare formulation. Dr. Elliott has a PhD and MA from The University of Oxford and is a Fellow of the Royal Society of Chemistry
